The Department of Psychological Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Lecturer position to begin Fall 2027. This position is eligible for continuing appointment and promotion. Salary is commensurate with that of tenure-track faculty.

The Lecturer will teach four undergraduate courses per semester and contribute to student success through high-quality, innovative, and engaging instruction. Teaching responsibilities will encompass both face-to-face and online courses, with opportunities to teach across a range of areas, including Research Methods and Statistics; General, Personality, and Developmental Psychology; and/or Physiological Psychology. Additional courses may be assigned based on the instructional needs of the department.

Required Qualifications

  1. Doctoral degree in any area of Psychology by the start date.
  2. Experience teaching as instructor of record or as a teaching assistant (including teaching experience as a graduate student).

In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply: 

  1. Experience teaching a broad range of courses, including research methods for psychology, statistics, physiological psychology, and general/introductory psychology. 
  2. Evidence of effective face-to-face and/or online teaching in areas relevant to the position.  
  3. Training in teaching pedagogy.
  4. Experience using learning management systems, virtual presentation software, and video recording tools.
  5. Experience working with dynamic student populations.
  6. Demonstrated engagement with the profession.
