Director of STP Programming at International Conferences

Volunteer
Application Deadline: Oct 23, 2026
Society for the Teaching of Psychology

Applications are currently being accepted for the next Director of STP Programming at International Conferences. Consistent with our Mission Statement and the Statement on Addressing Systemic Racism and Inequity in STP, we encourage applications from colleagues who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of STP Programming at International Conferences will foster teaching programming at international conferences that address the teaching of psychology. In order to offer teaching-related programming, the Director will identify, coordinate, and nurture international liaisons for each identified conference. Additional information about this position is available on page 69 of STP's Policies and Procedures Manual, on this webpage.

SUPPORT: The Director receives travel support to attend one international conference per year that focuses on the teaching of psychology, as well as a small budget to sponsor international teaching of psychology conferences.

TIMELINE: The new Director of STP Programming at International Conferences will be selected by December 31, 2026, so that the individual may spend two years observing the work of the current Director (Susan Nolan), who ends her term at the end of 2028. The new Director will serve 2029-2031. This lengthy transition period is necessary to help the new Director establish relationships with the leaders of international teaching of psychology conferences, which often occur every other year. This three-year position is also eligible for reappointment upon approval of the Executive Committee for an additional three-year term. (The two-year observation period is not part of the official term.)

TO APPLY: Send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and a list of three references who could be contacted to provide more information about your experiences related to this position to Jordan Troisi, Vice President for Programming, at [email protected] by October 23, 2026. Questions can also be sent to Jordan Troisi at [email protected] or Susan Nolan at international-conference@teachpsych.org.
