The Department of Psychology at La Salle University is seeking applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position. The position begins in August 2026. The successful candidate will serve as a core faculty member in La Salle’s APA-accredited Psy.D. Program in Clinical Psychology. The position is a full-time, nine-month appointment with a standard teaching load of four courses per semester. Consistent with University practice, pre-tenure faculty are typically assigned a reduced teaching load of three courses per semester.

Essential Duties: 

  • Teach assigned courses. The standard teaching load is four courses per semester; pre-tenure faculty are typically assigned a reduced teaching load of three courses per semester. 
  • Develop and sustain a program of research and/or scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline. 
  • Provide service to the department, college, and University, including participation on committees as appropriate to rank and experience. 
  • Chair and serve as a member of dissertation and other graduate committees. 
  • Advise students and participate in other activities that support the academic mission and functioning of the department, college, and University. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program and APA-accredited internship in clinical psychology. 
  • Multicultural humility and commitment to ongoing work in multicultural responsiveness and competence 
  • Demonstrated teaching ability. 
  • Ability to mentor and advise students on research and dissertation work 
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Graduate teaching experience. 
  • Evidence of the beginning of a program of research/scholarship. 
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the practice of psychology. 
  • Ability to contribute to our specialized concentrations in child and health psychology 

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: 

  • Evening hours may be required to teach an evening class and/or to participate in programmatic events (e.g., Diversity Forum, Grimes Lecture, etc.).
