APPLY

Graduate Student Teaching Association (GSTA) Steering Committee

Volunteer
Application Deadline: Dec 1, 2025

We are seeking 2-3 new members to join the Graduate Student Teaching Association (GSTA)’s Steering Committee from January 1, 2026- December 31, 2026. After serving 1 year, there is a possibility to renew for an additional 1-year term. Applicants must be a member of STP.

To be considered for the GSTA Steering Committee, you must be a graduate student for the entire term, and be attending a psychology graduate program in the United States or Canada including Masters, PhD, and PsyD programs. We encourage students in any year of their graduate program to apply (including first and second year students).

The Steering Committee oversees GSTA budgets and programming. One of the main goals of the GSTA is to provide professional development opportunities and resources to graduate student teaching assistants and instructors of record. Steering Committee members are expected to communicate regularly over email, meet monthly over Zoom, and meet annually in person if they are attending the Annual Conference on Teaching (ACT).

The GSTA values all kinds of previous experience related to teaching and learning, and you do not have to have served as an instructor of record to benefit others. Consistent with our Mission Statement and the Statement on Addressing Systemic Racism and Inequity in STP
we encourage applications from colleagues who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences including graduate students of color, LGBTQIA+ graduate students, first generation students, and other students with underrepresented identities to apply.

If you are interested in joining the GSTA Steering Committee, please apply by December 1, 2025 (11:59 pm ET). Please email gsta@teachpsych.org with any questions.
