The Department of Psychology at the University of South Florida invites applications for MULTIPLE Visiting Assistant Instructors or Visiting Assistant Professors of Instruction for 1 academic year (a 9-month contract with possible summer teaching and possible extension for a second and/or third year) with a 4-4 teaching load. Salary for each 9-month position is $50,000. These are full-time, non­ tenure earning positions to begin on August 7 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We seek applicants who can teach some combination of the following courses: Introductory Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, Experimental Design and Analysis, Perception, Physiological Psychology, Cognition, and Drugs and Behavior. The teaching load for each position is 4-4.

We also seek applicants qualified to provide therapy supervision and assessment supervision in our Psychological Services Center. Those applying to conduct supervisior must also have a doctorate in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program at the time of appointment and must be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Florida. For individuals seeking licensure in thE state of Florida, these hours will count toward the required supervised postdoctoral hours.

QUALiFICATIONS

 Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • MA in Psychology or related discipline from an accreaited institution.
  • For clinical applicants, a D. in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited prograrr at the time of appointment and licensure or license-eligibility in the state of Florida.
  • Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses, including but not limited to Introductory Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, Experimental Design and Analysis, Perception, Physiological Psychology, Cognition, and Drugs and Behavior and/or to provide therapy supervision and assessment supervision.
  • Record of successful teaching and, if relevant, expertise in providing clinical supervision and direct clinical services.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience teaching online courses
