Applications are currently being accepted for the next Treasurer for STP. The primary duties of the treasurer involve working in consultation with the Executive Committee to oversee and manage STP’s finances. Consistent with our Mission Statement and the Statement on Addressing Systemic Racism and Inequity in STP, we encourage applications from colleagues who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Timeline and selection process:
The Treasurer is elected by the Executive Committee to serve a 3-year term (2026-2028), which may be renewed for a second three-year term. Applications are due June 1, 2025. The next treasurer will be selected by early Fall 2025, and be trained by the outgoing treasurer in late fall of 2025. The position will officially start January 1, 2026 and continue through December 31, 2028.
Responsibilities:
The treasurer is responsible for a broad range of duties, including but not limited to managing reimbursements, proposing an annual budget document for review by the Executive Committee, implementing budgetary decisions made by the Executive Committee, interacting with APA accounting to assist with processing tax returns, and other duties as necessary. The treasurer is also a voting member of the Executive Committee and will attend monthly zoom meetings and 1 or 2 in-person annual meetings, one of which occurs during STP’s Annual Conference on Teaching. Support:
The treasurer receives an annual stipend of $4000, as well as travel, lodging, and travel-related expenses for in-person Executive Committee meetings.
